International Program Assistant or Senior Associate

Title: Associate/Senior Associate
Department: International Program
Reports to: International Program Director
Major Responsibilities:
Assist the director in executing the annual program plan and identifying and acting upon strategic opportunities to advance CFC’s mission internationally.
Educate and build relationships with prochoice Catholics and collegial reproductive rights, health, and justice advocates working internationally, leveraging CFC’s contributions to strengthen the organization’s position among other advocacy organizations and to inform international debates on SRHR.
Assist the director in providing technical and financial assistance to prochoice Catholics in Latin America, Asia, Africa, and Europe.
Represent CFC at meetings and conferences relevant to prochoice Catholic advocacy and education on the international stage.
Monitor activities and influence of the Catholic bishops on SRHR outside the US, and participate in the development of CFC’s response and assistance to local advocates as necessary.
Maintain up to date and complete contact information for program constituency and collegial organizations in CFC database. Regularly review for accuracy.
Maintain up to date and complete files on areas of interest to CFC, and ensure accessibility of the information to CFC staff, updating staff as appropriate.
As necessary, assist other staff with communications, outreach and advocacy activities as they relate to CFC’s international work.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a relevant field and three to five years’ relevant experience or a commensurate combination of education and experience.
Substantial knowledge of reproductive health and rights and Catholicism.
Superior verbal and written communication skills in English (fluent) and Spanish (advanced/proficient), other languages desirable.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and to work effectively under pressure.
Knowledge of and contacts in the international reproductive health, rights, and justice communities.
Ability to work compatibly with US and international colleagues with a high degree of flexibility and cultural sensitivity.
Ability to travel internationally as needed.
Commitment to progressive public policy and the mission of CFC.
