40 Days of Accompaniment: Week 3

February 28, 2024

Welcome to week three of our 40 Days of Accompaniment series! If you missed the previous two weeks, you can read those reflections here and here.

Today, I’m highlighting an action you can take right now or even commit to doing monthly: helping us distribute Catholics for Choice literature where and when it is needed most.

During the so-called “40 Days for Life,” patients experience even more harassment and intimidation than usual on their way into clinics. That’s why we’re making a concerted effort to have affirming brochures and prayer cards available to patients once they’re inside.

By committing to a monthly contribution, we will be able to stock (and restock!) our materials in 50 abortion clinics across the country.

GIVE TODAY

Let me explain why getting our materials into clinics is so important.

No matter why they are making this decision, someone going into an abortion clinic is already vulnerable. Maybe they are terminating their pregnancy for medical reasons, as so many women who have shared their stories with Catholics for Choice have had to do. Maybe they have no hesitation at all and are part of the 95% of abortion seekers who feel relief after the procedure.

Either way, anyone entering a clinic during the so-called “40 Days for Life” will be subjected to the same judgment, shame, and manipulation from harasses on the sidewalk.

So, when patients finally make through the clinic doors, we want to be sure our bilingual, faith-based brochures and prayer cards are there to greet, ground, and support them through their care.

Plus, our literature ensures that clinics have the resources they need to provide religiously affirming support to the 1 in 4 abortion patients in the U.S. who identify as Catholic.

But we can only afford to print and ship these materials if we know that our supporters are willing to commit to help fund our effort. Which is why I’m asking: Can you commit to a weekly contribution of $5 (or any amount you can afford) to help us get Catholics for Choice materials into abortion clinics across the country?

Thank you for your support!

Warmly,
Dayspring Cabaniss
