Statistically speaking, participants in the Synod likely have benefitted from contraception, had abortions, or needed medical care for miscarriage. And considering 1 in 4 abortion patients is Catholic, there is no denying that abortion is a part of the life of the church.

Yet the church continues to ignore and deny her people.

So, Catholics for Choice collected more than 180 abortion stories from Catholics of all backgrounds and identities. We compiled 51 of these moving stories into a book that we will be delivering to country ambassadors to the Holy See and the General Secretariat of the Synod, as well as to Pope Francis through the national post. Finally, we turned those stories into a beautiful 50-foot quilt that we will be marching through the streets of Rome.
