Catholics for Choice is headed back to Rome for the final synod gathering — and we’re bringing the abortion stories of faithful Catholics to the Vatican.
We have collected more than 180 stories (and counting) from Catholics and will have them in English and Spanish to deliver to the Vatican in the hopes that Pope Francis will hear these testimonies and prayerfully consider them.
Bringing these stories to the Vatican is a pro-choice pilgrimage of sorts, answering Pope Francis’s call to encounter each other across lines of difference. In addition to bringing a book of stories to the Vatican for consideration, we will also carry a quilt that weaves together all these stories as a more visual representation of the diversity of Catholics who have been affected by abortion at some point in their lives.
We are bringing this message to the Vatican, but our purpose goes beyond its walls. We want you take you, your stories, and your prayers with us.
